MGA 1500, 1600,1622 and MGB 1800 3 bearing and MGB 5 bearing Bronze Oil Pump Drive Gear Fitted To New Shaft. B series engines have a habit of wearing the oil pump drive shaft gear, and the gear on the camshaft particularly on highly stressed competition engines. Replacing both the drive shaft and camshaft can be a costly exercise. This replaceable bronze gear is pressed onto a purpose made, hardened steel drive shaft and located by a feather key in the shaft. The gear can be replaced as and when required. Under normal circumstances the shaft should not need replacement once purchased. The images show the gear and shaft separately and assembled.
